About us

Bhande LSK (Lo S'khumba Kanyathi) is a family business,
which aims at the top quality hand made leather products of any kind, but mainly belts of which the business is named about.

Though we work at home as the production house and office, but we believe that with God anything can happen.
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Our duty is to serve Him, work to help others from what we get, and just do as the Word says.
(
Acts 18:1-3)

Industrialisation came with mass product, high "quality", but the artistic work of gifted man was lost, and the general public lost most knowledge of how to do things and relied on big factories to produce for them, that caused many of them to lose jobs.

Get that taste back, buy from us and give us your style, and we will make it by hand.

Lo Skhumba Kanyathi

This saying is referring to any item considered strong, just ask any merchant if his product is strong, he will say,
"this is s'khumba kanyathi, lala nayena, vuka nayena,
hhayi phupha, hhayi phuma..." meaning the product is super strong, just like buffalo's leather, you sleep with and rise with,
it does not fade or be washed out... some even add, "...lo s'khathi yena phupha, wena zonyakazisa, lo s'khathi yena phuma wena zovala." meaning if it dreams, you will shake it up and it will wake, in Zulu "phupha" also means to dream, and if it goes out, you will shut the door, "phuma" also means get out, so we just play with words.

The saying comes from the language called Fanakalo
(a very old SA slang), and is also not formal just as Tsotsi taal.
"Bhande" is just a plain Zulu word meaning "belt" which is used as "ibhande (singular), amabhande (plural)."

At Bhande LSK we are happy to give the people what is slowly fading from the scene because of many artificial leather, almost all chain stores have slipped into a grave of selling the cheap leather like belts, as part of the customers we are also tired to always buy these, they only last few months, some even days, with just a shower of rain falling to you, you loose a belt, that's bad, but it's the way they want to keep us come to rent for more belts, some have decided to go without a belt, which is not profesional to do.

So buy yours and support to revive real leather belts.

HAND MADE IS JUST UNIQUE, NO TWO ARE THE SAME.

At a glance it looks like her, but it is actually a scarecrow of a lady in a strawberry field, and my son Ntandoyenkosi looking at it as if asking some questions "aunty, do you always stand here watching the monkies from eating strawberries?..."

The Golden Shoe

There was once a king who had a beautiful daughter, and for that reason there were many young man who wanted her hand, so the king set a way to choose the best among many young man to marry her.

The king set a route and said whoever want her must run the race on that route in a given time frame, so the young men came and inspected the route and saw it was not easy, but one of them was determine to get the princess, and he worked himself out to get fit for the race, one day he approached the king and said he will run for the princess, so the date and time for the race was set.

The race was not easy, but the practice he had before was enough for him to get there in time, as he was running he noticed something shinning the reflection of the sun into his eyes, and as he came closer he could not resist, so he decided to go off track and see what it is.

Wow a golden shoe, so shiny and just pure gold, this is too good to just be on the ground like this...” so he wondered where is another one, he spent time looking and gazing at such an artistic work of pure gold, and you know what happened, something spoke right inside him, “are you still on the race...?” he quickly looked at the time, it was too late, but he tried his best, and when he got to the king, he was just too late by the same time he wasted on the golden shoe.

HE NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO RUN FOR A PRINCESS AGAIN, EVEN THAT GOLDEN SHOE, HE THREW AWAY AND RAN FOR NO PRIZE.

And so God gives you a chance to inherit eternal life, don't be blinded by the shinning things from the enemy who wants you to postpone it till you lose your chance and FOREVER end in HELL!

scarecrow
It really looks funny, but actually this how we often look like and are happy and laughing at it, just like my Sipho, he was enjoying some chocolate alone and messed himself up like this. This is what we do also, we enjoy what is nice to us (sin) while dirtying ourselves before God, but He wants to clean us only if we come to Him as we are, it would not help to cover Sipho with a white towel and proclaim him clean, no, he must remove the dirty clothes, get washed and then put on clean ones.
We also need that for our souls...

Who Pushed Me?

There was once a rich man who had only one beautiful daughter, and when he was getting old, he said to himself it will not be good to die before knowing that there is someone left with his daughter and the riches he had. So he made a rule that one young man who wanted her hand, must swim through a certain river, that river was known for its hungry consuming crocodiles who were even prepared to attack people from the shore if they saw it fit.

Just as you would think everyone wanted her, but the only problem was the way through to here, so one day the man called for all the young men who wanted her hand and asked them to do just this one thing, strange enough, while they were wondering with fear to risk just for here, one young man was already swimming across the river.

When he came over the river something ironically happened, the crowds were praising him for his courage and of course his victory to be the one fit for the rich man's daughter, he was so angry and while trembling from the adrenalin rush and fear, he demanded, "WHO PUSHED ME?"

IN LIFE YOU SOMETIMES NEED SOMEONE TO PUSH YOU TO A FEARFULL, BUT GLORIOUS SUCCESS, SOMETIMES TO A NEW ADVENTURE WHICH NO MAN EVER TRIED BEFORE, BUT GOD IS THERE FOR YOU TO TRY HIM, TRUST HIM AND HE WILL DO.

Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfil His call by hallowing and keeping you].

1Thes. 5:24 (Amp)

warning

This is not really fun, but the fact that you will first lough when you see it, it makes it fit for the name. As a welder I had to weld some where out of the workshop and away from my home, as you can see the grass, I only had tools which my bicycle could take, but after I almost cut my toes with the big angle grinder, I cycled to my house to get clamps to hold this metal. This is actually what we are told to do in Ephesians 6:11-17
We sometimes do silly mistakes and if we are not fully armed the enemy will chop off our heads...

The First Christmas

These days we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus, we call the main day Christmas, but some people give it names which are not reminding us of Christ, they call it X-mas which X is mathematically an unknown variable and can be anything, but not Christ, some give it just any name, like Festive Season, and that makes it loose the core, a tree that has no core is hollow, it draws no water and nutrients from the soil and so it wither, that means the modern community is removing the core from this special day and that kills it off...

These days our preacher told us the true story of someone who did not know the meaning of this day, and has not seen the day for 25 years in his life. This young man came to our mission station to seek the Lord, and it happened that while he was there the time for Christmas came and finally the day too came, on Christmas day he said after he met Christ and knew Him and that X was removed from his life the name was fully Christmas, "I have been drunk all the time during Christmas time and would only wake up some days after the day is passed, and this is the first Christmas in my life for 25 years I did not know it."

THIS YOUNG MAN DID NOT KNOW CHRIST, BUT THE DAY HE MET HIM HE SAW THE FISRT CHRISTMAS IN HIS LIFE, WHEN HE WAS SOBER, AND HE WAS IN THE HOUSE OF GOD PRAISING HIM FOR THE DAY, THEE CORE OF THE DAY, "CHRIST".

Blessed are you who have met Him and He has removed your
sin, after you brought it to light before Him.
